Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Everyone!

It seems like forever since I've blogged, and at the same time, this year has flown by.....where did it go?

First of all, thank you so, so much to all of you who have so kindly sent notes to me regarding different posts.  It means a lot to me to hear from you.

I mentioned to you (a long time ago) that I was working on decorating a house in Guysborough, Nova Scotia, (which is over 6 hours from here by car and boat - one way!) and believe it or not, it was finally finished in early September when the family moved in. Since then, I've been back again for a photoshoot as the house will be published in East Coast Living magazine in their winter issue - January, I believe.  Because it will be published, I am unable to share any photos at this time, but I will update you later.

Besides getting through the hottest summer on Prince Edward Island in history(!), I've become glued (addicted?) to Pinterest!!!!!  I can't stop myself from looking at all those fabulous, fabulous images of everything imaginable.......I have so many interests I no longer concentrate on decor only and it is so much faster to peruse whatever subject you want info on at any particular time!  Please check out my boards at www.pinterest.com/kayfurlong.

In the meantime, to all of you who are looking forward to our Thanksgiving weekend, enjoy!  And to those of you in the rest of the blogosphere, have a wonderful weekend as well!

Until the next time!

Regards,

Kay

Palm Beach Blues

Hi there,

I posted Wendy Valliere's charming home a couple of weeks ago (the red kitchen!) and liked her work so much I thought I would share another of her designs today........this home is a client's Palm Beach residence.

As you will see, the whole house is in shades of blue with pink, red and white accents.......each room is stunning, but I particularly love the first image of a carefully planned and curated sightline.......so enticing!!

Enjoy!

A Hamptons Home

Hi Everyone!

I'm home again, at least for a few more days!

Weather is improving here on the island.........the sun is finally coming out, so maybe we can enjoy some warmth for a few days.

The home featured today is by Carrier and Co. Architects............a summer home for Anna Wintour.

Love the casual, comfortable and country feel to this house.......the soft colors and the artwork.

Enjoy!

A Designer's Charming Home

While doing a little research on interiors the other night, I happened upon this charming home owned by interior designer, Wendy Valliere.

After years of producing wonderful interiors for her clients, and never having done a red kitchen, she decided it was time to do one for herself when she settled down in a small Vermont town.

Looking at her home, red is obviously a favorite color of hers, as it is tastefully interspersed throughout.  The red kitchen is a knockout, the red guest room is an absolute charm and where would the black and white master bedroom and bath be without those perfectly placed splashes of red?

I was thrilled to find the whole home that went with those gorgeous quilt top window treatments in the guest room, as I had used that exact image a while back in a post on "Decorating with Quilts".  And that swan bed is to die for!

Hope you enjoy this home as much as I did.  To see more, check out New England Home magazine.

Enjoy!

Crazy for Coral!

I am loving all the coral I am seeing these days!  Whether it's a whole collection gathered over a lifetime, or a touch of it here and there, it's a wonderful addition to any room!

And the colors!  Red, white, blue and pink are just a few that I have seen and it's charming in all forms - textiles, lights, mirrors, art - the sky is the limit!

Enjoy!
